Southern Maryland Weddings – Jasmine and Theo

Southern Maryland Weddings – Jasmine and Theo —- Over twenty-five years ago a little girl with the prettiest smile and her hair fastened in little pom-poms, would sit on my lap and we would bounce and laugh and play.  When she contacted Tom and I last fall and asked if we would photograph her and her finance’s wedding I was shocked!  Shocked, because how in the world could it be possible that she was old enough to have a boyfriend, let alone be getting married.  After meeting with Jasmine and Theo Tom and I have been so excited to be a part of their special day….  Wow, how time flies…

Fast forward to yesterday, April 20, 2017; it was clear, there would be rain all day. This didn’t damper anyone’s spirit as there were smiles all around as guests began posting on social media their own excitement and pre-wedding prep photos.

Mothers and grandparents were seated and right on schedule the groom and his groomsmen appeared followed by the bridesmaids and flower girls. Jasmine and her father, Maurice, then appeared in the doorway smiling. One last moment between father and daughter and the two of them proceeded to the alter of the New Life Church is LaPlata. I still have to swallow a lump in my throat and blink blink back the feeling of emotion as I remember the two of them passing by as I watched through the lens of my camera. After saying their vows with ease, Jasmine and Theo also had a sand ceremony signifying their unity and love for one another.

Their reception at Middleton Hall in Waldorf was breathtaking. Jasmine and Theo celebrated with their family and friends with love and grace into the evening. Tom and I caught the two of them right before we left for a last minute portrait outside. Their kiss completing a full day capturing one of the most important days of their lives.

Tom and I couldn’t have been more honored or blessed to have been a part of their special occasion. We wish them many years of happiness and are forever thankful for the friendship over the years of their parents, Maurice and Sonya.
