In May 2016 when we did Kristen and Dave’s engagement shoot, the furthest thing from their mind was that it would rain on their wedding day. Rain is good luck, right? Well if that is the case, Kristen and Dave Moore have luck for years and years and years… because it poured. Buckets even. It seemed as though every cell phone was cued to the radar and weather forecast to see if the storm was going to break up in time for their 3pm nuptials. Regardless, under the old oak tree was where they wanted to say “I Do.” The decision to push the ceremony back 15 minutes gave the storm time to move, and by the time Kristen came out the door, the sun was peaking from the clouds. By the time her and her father made it across the bridge that Dave and his father had specially built, the sun was shining. Although the ground was squishy… very squishy, Kristen made her way to her groom under that old oak tree. It was there they professed their love for each other as friends and family struggled to hold back their tears. (The photographer too!) It still gives me goosebumps to know what outside looked like only a half hour earlier… you can see for yourself in a couple of the shots captured. Love can build a bridge, and love shines through, every time, Moore-so in this case !
